sand art
So those last pics showed how hard these people work. One guy actually rakesthe sand to make it smooth every day. Today he had some fun and wrote huatulco in it. Just incredible. The other pics were of dads home away from home. The healthy side and the drooling side. They really cater to our country by setting up a coffee shop just like we like them.
Habitat for Humanity
Marg you must show Ann this post. We went on an excursion when our driver stopped the van and turned to us all and said I would like to tell you why we love Canadians. You have an organization called habitat for humanity. They build houses here. This is one of them. They are always red and white. He went on and on close to tears about how thankful he and his country are. As we continued our journey into the real hills of Mexico we saw a few more, which he always pointed out. There was ALOT of poverty in the area. BUT on our return he showed us so many people walking up and down the roads with garbage bags picking up litter. He said they are so proud and thankful for what they get they strive to keep everything clean. And although there was a lot of poverty it was clean. Everyone was out picking up the garbage which he told us they do every other day. It really was amazing. They had so very little. It was the true Mexico. We drove for over two hours each way to these waterfalls which were spectacular. It was so awesome to see how people truly lived other than those around the resorts. This young man was from these parts but for tourist season, he stays in town for six months at a time. He was also so diligent about slowing for quite a distance when he saw foot traffic so as not to create dust for the. There was ALOT of foot traffic! Anyway it really was nice to see the results of an organization we had heard so much about, and to see see how thankful they really were.
There were several towns we passed through. He had a ticket from the place we had stopped which he had to produce at the next checkpoint.
This was to prove we had stopped so therefore we were allowed to pass through the next town. Quite a system. They want to make sure you drop some dollars at at least one of the towns. There was also another fee which went directly to road maintenance. Parts of the road were paved and he said eventually the whole thin would be paved because of this levy. I don't think we ever learned so much in one day.
I know this is long, but the next set of pictures you have to notice dad is in the front seat. Always the keener. The driver asked if anyone wanted to be the co pilot. Dad was quick to answer. He was playfully teased about it quite a while. The roads were so bad it was like driving though the Telkwa pass. Some were quite scared but they were city folk who had never even been on a dirt road, and yes they were all Canadians.
The beauty we saw was indescribable. Just awesome, but the best part was the habitat for humanity houses. That really hit close to home.
This was our last full day, tomorrow it's back to the best country in the WORLD!
Waterfalls
Had a wonderful day yesterday on an excursion to the water falls. I was kind of leery but found I wasn´'t the worst in the group so the challenge was on. Dad of course was the hero. He was most brave. All he needed was a dare (go figure) but I DOUBLE DOG DARED HIM. oH THE RESULTS YOU GET WHEN YOU DOUBLE DOG DARE! rIGHT kERI? I'm not even going to try and figure out how to correct that, the instructions are all in Spanish so it is what it is. Of course the Mexican Papparazzi was following us and hopefully you will find some fantastic pictures, if I know how to do it. If not, well they'll come when we're back home. A lot of them, didn't even realize he was taking pictures. We could not bring the camera, but just trust me. He got some really great ones.
We're in the Mexican Tim Hortons. Dad is in his glory. Here they have desktops so the typing is so much easier.
Today is our last full day so we plan on going into the city for one last hurrah. I hope to get one more langosta, then I'll be doubly satisfied for this year. So hopefully here are the pics.

Sunday
SUnday morning and the sun is just rising. While you all are getting ready for church dad and I are going on a waterfall tour. It's supposed to be spectacular, but there's hiking. I don't do hikes, but I guess that's the plan. I just keeping Twin Falls. Can't do that one, but I'm promised I can do this one. I just might become one with nature half way up. Guess we'll just have to see.
Dad had a fun day of golfing yesterday. Hot hot hot. I just hung out. It was nice too. Met a man who works at Bruce Jack. Who knows Curt, maybe you'll meet up with him. Gave him your name. Anyway, short but sweet. Talk to you later.

Wednesday
About that donut. You can multiply it by four! It is donut heaven. I know where to find dad should he be lost.
bay tour
There was only one lady who got a little out of hand. It they corralled her as much as possible.
Dad went snorkelling too. He had a lot of fun. He forgot his own gear, but even with rentals he said it was pretty cool.
So the day is close to over. Thinking dad will probably sleep until sunset. A wonderful feeling when the body is tired from too much fun! He going golfing tomorrow so he better rest up.
I've finished two books, on to the one I've been working on for close to a year. Hope all is well with you guys. Special hello to Maya, Eli, Isaac,Eva, Genevieve and Max. Really missing you guys, and your moms and dads too!
And Chels, those Maui jims you bought me many years ago were just a God send today! I would have never seen half the stuff with regular sunglasses, but these were polarized. Can't believe the difference!
The first pic you see a white spot in the distance. This is thousands of fish swimming in a circle.

Canada vs US
so tonight I'm listening to this woman next door to us talking to her mother. Obviously an American. She's saying how bad the beach is, well I've never seen any better. How everything is okay but..... and I'm thinking what more could you expect? It's AWESOME!!! In fact FABULOUS!!!! Well they only have sushi if you order room service. I'm thinking gag me, in fact let me gag you! Some people are just never satisfied. This hotel is just better than best! Then she says (you're never going to believe this). They get like a hundred and seventy something days of the year without rain!!!!!!!!! It took all I could do to not turn ,my head over the wall and say ARE YOU THAT THICK????? There are only 365 days in a year!!!! Where are you coming up with these extra days? But as I get older my filter IS growing believe it or not!
Then today we are having fun watching a very large group enjoy a game. I think Keri it is the one you wanted left right centre. Only they came up with a way to play it for money. Regardless, there was this very loud American lady who could have made a sailor blush with the language that came out of her mouth. Anyway they were having a blast. But finally this one Canadian says to her you know what? I think we should build a wall between Canada and the states. AND. We're going to make YOU guys pay for it! Well was that pool ever rocking after that! HILARIOUS!!! I guess the stats are there are 70 percent Canadians here. Don't hear much of any other language than English. Spanish is heard once in a while. No German, Russian, or anything else. Guess it would be nice to know a fact like that before you left home. This is great!!!! Love being the majority!!! Well that's enough of a rant for now, hope you enjoyed it!

Our guard
This guy keeps careful watch over us. His job is to keep the starlings and turkey vultures away from the pool and the beach area. He flies around occasionally. What a natural way to keeps pests at bay.
Seems to be every pic is of me eating but oh well.
Back to the ocean
So although there were issues the other day I just couldn't help going back to the ocean. It is so beautiful. Your dad was my eyes and was on the lookout for unappealing things. To my surprise he actually jumped in and joined me. The water is so beautiful, warm, and the waves so fantastically powerful, there is just nothing like it. To look at it from afar was just not the same. The lifeguards at first said, no no snakes here. We reminded them about the one the other day when they reluctantly agreed and said they would keep a close eye on me. The majority f people are just sitting on the beach. There are very few in the water. So it's not like they had a tough job. I did for safety's sake take off my wedding ring.
Yesterday we went to a Mexican Walmart. I got a couple new bathing suits. Of course because I'm so vain, I picked one with shiny silver, black and white. When we got back I thought there was not much difference between the bathing suit and the nail polish the lady who was bitten by the eel was wearing. So thankfully I bought two and the other is just blue. That one I wore in the ocean today. Anyway, took a city tour yesterday. It turned out to be the same as the one the taxi driver took us on. Dad met up with his long lost friends from the Mayan. When you see the pics (from the other iPad ) you'll understand what I mean. Until I think of something else to say, farewell for now.

Favourite saying
Member? Just because it says coffee ON the cup doesn't mean it's coffee IN the cup. Some last moments with our great friends Tom and Annie.
Goodbye ocean
I told you earlier about the lady who was bitten by the moray eel. Well today after saying goodbye to Tom and Annie we headed again down to the beach. Very few people in the water and I was surprised your dad went in. Didn't take long when someone was saying they spotted a snake. Well sure enough there he was creeping on to the shore. The lifeguards were warning those to stay back because not only was it a snake, it was poisonous. So in a nutshell, your dad will NOT be going back in the ocean. Too bad.
the ocean
The ocean life is alive and well. It's amazing what you see above the water but dad saw some beautiful sights snorkelling. Puffer fish and bright coloured fish that were quite big. Yesterday while sitting at the beach we saw a whale breach. Just spectacular. Couldn't actually believe our eyes. It happened while dad was talking to Curt on the phone. Guess we need not wait for Chelsey to be interested in coming to this part of Mexico.
Very morning there seems to be a war on to see who can get up earliest and get beach chairs. One morning 8:30 and they were all gone. Next morning 7:30! Ridiculous. Well this morning I joined in and got some good spoils of the war. We should be very comfortable today.
The waves close to the shore are quite strong. I played some uncontrolled aerobics and found myself with a little beach rash on my shoulder. It would have been hilarious had it been someone else and I could have seen it myself, but I gave a good show regardless!
Yesterday afternoon a lady got bit by a moray eel. What you think about that one Keri? That would have been a good lesson for your students not to harass the wild life!
So I'm having a little trouble technologically. My pad I can type and not post pics, but dad,s I can post pics and not type. After this whole week "what I'm thinking about doing is...." well I'm sure you Christian school graduates can all figure it out. Till next time love to you all.

Perks
There are so many perks in this hotel free internet everywhere, room service anytime for anything. They don't nickel and dime services. All inclusive and they really mean it! Towels without towel cards, FREE internet EVERYWHERE, al a carte restaurants on demand premium liquor including authentic Kahlua. The turn down service is the picture. Just top notch everything. Only thing missing is langosta (lobster). Yesterday though at lunch a dish was served with crab, mussels, shrimp, octopus, calamari and who knows what other seafood. I was in food heaven.
I'm at the room enjoying my book while the others are enjoying the hockey game.
Tomorrow is our last full day with Tom and Annie. It's been such a blast with them.
Sunday
Dad and Tom kept the sabbath holy by going golfing. Annie and I just hung out. We thought about joining the aerobics class but decided we didn't want to show anybody up so we sun bathed instead. We did however get our exercise. We went from the pool to the beach, back to the pool, when dad and Tom came back to another beach and ended our day off back at the pool. Busy busy busy! That's about it for today. They are excited for the hockey game tonight. Hopefully they have Dr. Feel on another channel but I'm not holding my breath.
