January 10 2012

It is so hard to try and keep track of the dates.   The hours in the day fly by so fast.  Yesterday we did the zip line.  It was actually quite stressful.  Dad wanted to be the last.  No problem, except for the fact we were the last group of the day.  The boys were understandably quite tired from heisting people all day, therfore they made no beans about it that they actually could not wait for the day to be ended.  Can't blame them a bit.  What an exhausting job they have.  There was such pressure.  Some didn't dare go too fast, so they would have to pull themselves to the platform.  I on the otherhand and more lazy than scared (if there is a choice) so I was literally hiar straight back and was not going to slow myself if it was the last thing I did!  My plan, although absolutely petrifying worked only as long as the guy ahead of me had the same plan.  He didn't!!!!  Sure enough, on the longest line, he didn't make it to the end.  There I was having to make the choice between flying over top of the guy and stopping, well let me tell you, I got as close as I possibly could.  Still had to pull the dern thing until finally the controller came and pulled me in!  I would have made it no problem!  Good thing I never saw the guy with unmarried parents again.  That is one item off my bucket list.  It was so fast, I was PETRIFIED, I did actually scream!  Your dad had a good time also, although he says he need not do that again.  There was no time to enjoy the scenery, you were always worried you either wouldn't make the next platform or miss it altogether.  It was a long two hour bus (term used loosely), an hour and a half zip line and then another two hour drive back.  These trucks are four by fours and the road we travelled on was unlike anything I've ever seen.  MUD MUD MUD!!!
This morning we got up quite early and watched the sun rise.  We are on the wrong side for a sun set, so that is as good as it gets.\

Your dad is suffering quite a bit from his sunburn.  Not so much the burn but the itch that accompanies it is driving him stir crazy.  He actually took an anti-histamine, which did help somewhat.  It was an act of absolute desperation.  It is now about 7:30 and he is lying down again.  I guess sleep will be the only comfort.
