And now the disappointment

It was my dream to go to the Markt in Gouda.  By the time we made it there, it was 2:00, and it closed at 1:00.  It really doesn't matter because there are other markets in other cities.  We visited the St. Jan's kerk and saw the beautiful stained glass windows.  You'll also see a picture of the organ and of the pulpit.  When a minister thanks that high above you, you listen!  It was also interesting to see reserved seating.  The ground we walked on held graves from centuries ago.  All buried beneath us.  On the one picture you can see dad looking up at a window.  That will give you some perception as to how high these windows were.  We also visited the cheese weighing building.  There we purchased echte goudse stroop waffels.  It sure did take me back to my childhood walking along the same bricks I did as a child.  You see some pictures of dad and I holding the magazine from Hawk Air.  If you take your picture somewhere special you can win a tshirt.  Maybe we'll become famous!  Now we are sitting at an outside Cafe eating croquettes.  Delicious and oh so hot!
Next we are headed to some place close to my moms brother.  He is going to take us around tomorrow to places that would mean something to us.  Our own personal tour guide.  We are excited about that.
We have tried to get a hotel here in three different places with no success.  I think we should say farewell to the Buddha, and find maybe a huigenot cross or the like.

So sorry you missed it... Could you try again next week? That church is gorgeous! I wonder if one of the reserved pews was the "amen pew where sat Sister Bertha Better-than-you"?
    Love you lots!
