Heerlen

We travelled today to my Dad's brother Ynze.  It is eerie how much he looks like my dad.  I see the body language, the way he walks, his hat, oh there are so many things that are similar to him.  We went for a walk to my cousin Dora's.  We were walking behind him.  I see the white hair hanging below his hat, the rim of his glasses, the way he is walking with his arms in the pocket of his ecru coloured coat, and I expect when he turns around to see my dad.  It is so unbelievable, and shocking at the same time when he does turn around and it is not my dad.  I even look at his hands, and they are also the same.  I guess I never noticed it so much when he was alive, but since he has passed on it is just a feeling I cannot describe.
Today we visited the grave of my Oma and my Dad's brother Jan, who died at the age of 15 in a bicycle accident.  There was a time when Curt had just learned how to bike.  We had gone for a bike ride (yes I went too!).  Curt was so proud of himself and turned around to see if Opa was watching him how fast he was going.  Well sure enough he went blank over tea kettle.  We were going down the hill by Wilf's place.  Well he had some road rash on his face and the helmet was very dented. My Dad INSISTED that we take Curt to the hospital to have him checked out because his brother had died because of a bike crash.  Well today we saw the place where the accident occurred.
I cannot post any pictures today of anything we have seen. There is no Wi Fi here so I am just doing this on my Uncles computer.  He sat at the computer today, so then I knew it was not my dad since he had trouble operating a remote control!
Until tomorrow we will speak again.  Love to you all, Dad and Mom
