WWII reenactment
We got to witness a reenactment of the liberation of Groningen last night. Real tanks and lots of shooting. They gave quite a talk about what it was really like. People bringing the soldiers cups of coffee and the joyous celebration yet grief also as one left his deceased brother on the street while he continued in the battle. He was there in the flesh so it must have been an emotional time for him. They had some actual Canadian soldiers and a lot of Dutch in Canadian uniforms. It was so cool to actually be able to picture what it was like. Today who knows what the day will hold, more adventures and more family to see. The men standing in front of the group were actually at that battle in April of 1945.
